Press-Info - Presentation and Launch of the ERA at Berlin, 7th of May 2007

The European Resistance Archive (ERA) went online on the 7th of May.
Yesterday, it was officially presented in the European House in Berlin.
Belen Enciso (working at the European Commission), Giacomo Notari (Italian partisan association ANPI), Fabian Thiele (managing director of lieblinx GmbH, software development), Steffen Kreuseler (project-coordination ERA) as well as delegations of the nine project partners were present.
ERA was realized with project partners from Poland, Austria, France, Italy, Slovenia and Germany during the last nine months. ERA was funded by the European Commission.
“I am delighted, that through means of the European Commission the first video-archive with eyewitnesses of the European Resistance could be developed and is online from today on.” (Belen Enciso, 7.05.2007)
It is aim of ERA to keep the memory of the European resistance-movements against fascism and occupation during the Second World War alive and visible in an online-archive. The heart of the video-portal is currently 20 video-interviews with men and women who participated in various ways in the antifascist resistance in six European countries.
“This is a first important step. The online-archive will grow in the following years. We will include further European countries into the archive and will enable young people to interview eyewitnesses.” (Steffen Kreuseler, 7.05.2007)

Das European Resistance Archive (ERA) ist am 7. Mai online gegangen: www.resistance-archive.org
Es wurde im Europäischen Haus in Berlin offiziell präsentiert.
Anwesend waren Belen Enciso (Mitarbeiterin der Europäischen Kommission), Giacomo Notari (italienischer Partisanenverband ANPI), Fabian Thiele (Geschäftsführer der lieblinx GmbH, Softwareentwicklung), Steffen Kreuseler (Projektkoordination ERA) sowie Delegationen der neun Projektpartner.
ERA ist in den letzten neun Monaten in Zusammenarbeit von Partnern aus Polen, Österreich, Frankreich, Italien, Slowenien und Deutschland entstanden. Das Projekt wurde von der Europäischen Kommission gefördert.
„Ich bin begeistert, dass mit Mitteln der Europäischen Kommission das erste Video-Archiv mit Zeitzeugen des europäischen Widerstands entwickelt werden konnte und seit heute online ist.“ (Belen Enciso, 7.05.2007)
Ziel von ERA ist es, die Geschichte der Widerstandsaktivitäten gegen Faschismus und Besatzung während des Zweiten Weltkrieges in einem Online-Archiv lebendig und sichtbar zu halten. Kern des Video-Portals sind vorerst 20 Interviews mit Frauen und Männern, die in sechs europäischen Ländern am antifaschistischen Widerstand auf vielfältige Art und Weise teilgenommen haben.
„Das ist ein wichtiger erster Schritt. Das Online-Archiv wird in den nächsten Jahren wachsen. Wir werden weitere europäische Länder in das Archiv aufnehmen und Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit geben, Zeitzeugen zu interviewen.“ (Steffen Kreuseler, 7.05.2007)
